Laser Capsulotomy(Yag Laser)

In individuals who have undergone cataract surgery, the membrane behind the lens implanted in the eye may gradually become opaque over time. This opacification slowly reduces vision, and the patient may feel as if cataracts are returning. After sufficient time has passed since the surgery, this opacification needs to be removed with YAG laser treatment (capsulotomy).

YAG laser treatment is essentially a light-based therapy and can be performed without any physical contact with the eye using instruments or devices. It is a procedure that takes only seconds and is completely painless. The treatment is carried out while the patient sits in an examination chair.

For certain types of glaucoma (eye pressure), YAG laser iridotomy is performed to reduce intraocular pressure. This procedure involves creating a millimetric opening in the iris tissue, which gives the eye its color.
